A bit about me

I'm Grant Bridgeman and I've been recording sound for over 28 years, and for the past 15 making a professional career out of it. Predominantly I record location sound for film / TV, and carryout sound design and dubbing editing - and I've been lucky enough to be nominated for a couple of BAFTA craft awards for my work

As well as having a nice selection of location recording equiment, I've got my own bespoke studio in the North Leicestershire countryside. A compact and bijou affair with a 3.5m x 3.5m live room and 3m x 4m control room, quite suitable for tracklaying and sound design work - and has been used for music recording, foley, ADR and VO work.

This blog is going to be some of my thoughts and bits of advice that I'd wish I'd listened to when I was younger.  I suspect some of my views will be diagreed with - which is a good thing. All my thoughts that I scribble down here are my incredibly humble opinion, and I leave them compeletely open to revision as I learn more - so don't be surprised if I start disagreeing with myself.  It will be infrequent as I see fit, or as regular as I can manage..
